Are there any good singing/karaoke games with similar competence to Rock Band?
Main Post:
My wife is a trained singer and sometimes she wants to sing harmonies with me in Rock Band 4 (I have over 1K songs across all mainline importable games and DLC dating back to RB2 era) but my library has a disproportionate number of songs featuring female vocalists.
The other night, she wanted to sing “girly” songs and when I put the female artist filter on, it brought the song count down to like 130something and still very few songs she/we were familiar enough with or would even want to sing.
Are there any good strictly singing/karaoke games these days that might feature more popular songs to sing? I see a series called Let’s Sing 20XX but I’ve never heard of it before.
Top Comment: If you have a useable PC and don’t mind a bit of faffing, I’d recommend Ultrastar. It’s an open source clone of good old SingStar, with a big enough community that there are absolutely loads of songs available.
Will playing the Let's Sing games improve my singing?
Main Post:
I know it might be a stupid question but I've been making instrumentals for a long time but I don't feel confident in my singing so I'm wondering if this would help. Any tips or advice would be nice.
Top Comment: I intensely dislike the presentation in Let's Sing. Especially Let's Sing 2024, which has this wonky angled vocal track that literally no one asked for. It gives very poor feedback on your performance and is hard to visually see what you are doing wrong. The dot trace representing what note you are singing wobbles even when you're singing a perfectly flat note, and "jumps" to the nearest note, meaning if you are actually a little flat or sharp, you cannot tell by looking. Rock Band 4 has a much better visual interface, with an arrow that tilts up or down toward the line you should be singing. It also accurately tracks changes in your pitch, such as vibrato, and gives you credit for singing harmony lines. Even so, singing on key doesn't mean you are singing well... just that you're (relatively) on key. It will help you learn songs faster, but unless you just have a terrible ear for pitch, it won't do much for your singing chops, and may cause you to sing "robotically" by being a slave to the scoring line in the game, regardless of your tone, texture, or enunciation. Also worth noting that only the highest difficulty settings (Expert) on these games are even worth using. The lower difficulties let you stray by more than a semitone and still get scoring credit, which is absolutely unacceptable in an actual performance.

[Q] How do you get 200 games on spectator gem Sing for Beaver knight Courier? Help please?
Main Post:
So I recently bought a Beaver Knight Courier from the market. However, to get that sweet divine rapier style, you need 200 games! How can you get that number?
Notes:
- Spectated SingSing during TT does not increase the number.
- Spectated SingSing during C9 increases by 1.
Anyone care to share their 200 games gem? The courier is seriously cute

just buy one with rapier unlocked for 1,45€
[TOMT][Video] Two guys sing the titles of wii games to the wii shop channel on update day
Main Post:
The video starts out with one guy calling the other into the room to let him know that update day for the wii shopping channel has started at 11:15 instead of at 12:00 like usual.
They start to groove to the music a little bit talking about how catchy it is and how they should make a song to the tune of the wii shop channel music.
One of them starts to sing the titles of wii games that he sees but poorly and then the other guy tries and does it very well, to the surprise of the other guy.
The video ends with them both yelling.
please help i’ve been looking all day

Singing games on WiiU
Main Post:
I am a proud owner of the original Wii and the WiiU. Recently I got excited about the prospect of singing using the consoles and using them as karaoke machinea.
I purchased two Logitech usb mics from ebay and acquired some "Sing It" games for the Wii and "Sing party" for the WiiU.
To my dismay, i am getting something like half a second lag hearing my voice though the TV, which destroys the experience. I tried different settings on my TV (LG 65 B2 oled) including the game mode but nothing helped.
Now the question - is anybody able to run singing games on the WiiU or Wii without any lag? If so, what setup are you using?

I think for the Wii U the best game for singing it's Wii Karaoke U, or just Karaoke U. i don't remember the exact name but it's something similar to these
Why do we sing the national anthem before sporting events, and what would happen if we stopped?
Main Post:
Question in the title. Let’s hear what you have to say.

People who get paid to sing the national anthem at sporting events should not be taking any creative liberties with the anthem or "leave it to the crowd"
Main Post:
You're getting paid to sing the anthem. Not the crowd.
The anthem of a country in most cases has been established for 100+ years and has a specific way it should be sung with specific notes and specific timings/intonations. You learn it in grade school.
I'm tired of these pop singers/local singers/up and comers that think that a sporting event national anthem is their time to shine and show everyone what they're made of. Just sing the anthem and don't disrespect it. Use your pipes but sing it as it is supposed to be sung.
As an example of what I mean, imagine like Christina Aguliera is hired to sing the USA national anthem at a baseball game or whatever and when it gets to the "la-and of the freeeeeeeeeeee", instead of her just showing her impressive lung capacity and holding the "eeeeeeeeee" at it's intended note, that she instead does the classic Christina Aguiliera "EeeEEAyyyEahh!eee Eeahh!"
I just find the latter annoying. Sing the whole thing and don't "leave it to the crowd" either, it's lazy imo.
Top Comment: I'll weigh in, as a professional musician who has performed a number of national anthems for professional sports teams... maybe Christina Aguiliera gets paid, but the vast majority of your "local singers/up and comers" do not.
singing mode on wii??
Main Post:
hi! is there a singing mode on any of the wiii games??!
Top Comment:
I don't believe there is. I think wii is the only console that doesn't have a singing mode but I could be wrong so take that with a grain of salt.
